Before you go to Mexico you should know…

 

1. You should know that it is really hot there and you need sunscreen and protection from the sun.

2. You should know that you shouldn’t drink the tap water, drink bottled water instead.

3. You should know that a lot of people there don’t have enough food and water.

4. You should know some simple and useful Spanish phrases, like “Donde esta…” and “por favor” and “gracias”.

5. You should know that when you go to the mercado that a lot of people bargain and are able to get things for a lower price.

6. You should know that when you go to buy something you need to change your dollars to pesos first.

7. You should know that you might get sick on the way back.

8. You should know that you need to drink a lot of water to avoid getting dehydrated.

9. You should know that you can get food poisoning, so eat street food at your own risk.

10. You should know to not take all your money out at once because it might get stolen.

11. You should know that you shouldn’t leave your bags around, leave them either on you or in a safe spot. Be aware of your surroundings.

12. You should know that there are lots of stray animals and you will want to keep all of them.

13. You shouldn’t touch a homeless animal if you see one.

14. You should know that Mexico is a fun and beautiful place, so make sure you enjoy yourself and take lots of pictures!
